Mobile Technology has already gone a far away. People are using their smart phones & other handy devices to access internet and blogs. The numbers show that around 28% of the Americans use their smartphone as the first point of access to the internet. And globally as well the numbers are increasing.
But, as much the mobile revolution is increasing, our blogs are becoming less engaging & interesting. And we are not able to do anything about it.
Still Confused?
Let me Show You How Increase in Mobile Technology is Reducing the Engagement on Your Blog
1. No Call To Action
As you already know the mobile layout is a simple one. Website Name, Article Title, Content of the article that’s it. You loose almost every call to action thing in it. Social Sharing, Subscribe to the RSS Feed, subscribe to the Email updates. Nothing.
Many of us provide free Ebooks, premium products/services that people can subscribe/purchase. But with the increase of mobile technology people don’t even get the information about these things even if they are active on your blog. People would come to your site and do absolute nothing apart from reading your content. Strange but true.
2. Leads To Less Page-views
At the end of the post you can see the related posts that are shown. People tend to click on them and read more about a particular topic and get to stay longer on the site.
But if a person visits my website from the smart phone, he/she is not able to see any thing like related posts. So, a user is not able to have a look at the other interesting articles about the particular topic. Ultimately, leading to less traffic.
3. Less No. Of Comments
Believe this fact or not. But the truth is it reduces the no. of comments you receive on your blog. According to the trends that most popular bloggers are seeing is a drop of around 7% in the comments and there are seeing an increase of 40% in the mobile visits.
It is a normal tendency of human as well, that when we are using the smart phones to do the job, we tend to reduce the work we have to do. Same is the case here, people tend to just read the posts and that’s it.
